        Coverage Highlights

The RLI PUP program provides the best protection for you and your family. The policy may be written either in the name of an individual, in the names of both spouses, or in the names of two unrelated individuals as long as they reside in the same household. The insured’s spouse and members of the insured’s household who are relatives or are in the insured’s care and custody are insured under the policy.

  • $1-, $2-, $3-, and $5-million liability limits are available

  • Coverage is available in all states and the District of Columbia

  • Optional auto underlying limits of $100/300/50,000 available for most risks without youthful operators

  • Broad underwriting guidelines allows easy qualifying for the program

  • The application is self-underwriting so you know as soon as completed whether or not qualified for coverage

  • Competitive premiums are offered for all coverage limits to keep RLI personal umbrella coverage affordable

       Writing Your First PUP

Writing a RLI personal umbrella policy is very simple! Start by printing a   RLI Personal Umbrella Policy Application. If you would like a preliminary quote, complete the self-explanatory application and then find the rate sheet applicable to your state. Once you have printed the completed application and verified that the risk qualifies for a policy, follow the submission Helpful Hints or contact/send to your Approved IIABA/RLI Administrator.  Do not send applications and premiums to IIABA or RLI directly. Instead, click here to download a list wherein you can find the name, phone number and e-mail address of your state administrator..        RLI At-Home Business Policy

Home-based business owners are susceptible to losses just like any other business owners. Many discover that their homeowner’s policy contains exclusions for business pursuits—but usually not until after they have suffered a loss.

RLI's @Home Business Policy offers them comprehensive coverage for business personal property (both on-premises and while temporarily off-premises), along with up to $1,000,000 in business general liability protection.        Eligibility

What qualifies as an @Home Business? An @Home Business includes a retail or service business operated from the insured's place of residence and having the below characteristics. The @Home Business must:

  • Be operated by the insured and/or another immediate family member who resides in insured's household,
  • Employ no more than ten (10) employees, other than independent contractors or distributors,
  • Be incidental to the occupancy of the building as a private residence,
  • Have a maximum of $100,000 business personal property, and
  • Have a maximum gross annual sales/receipts derived from the business activity of $250,000 for sales or merchandise or $500,000 for a service business.

       Writing Your First At-Home Business Policy

  • Check the list of eligible businesses in the rating guide to determine whether or not your client's business is eligible.
  • Print the RLI @Home Business Policy Application.
  • Use these Helpful Hints for completing and submitting the application.
  • Reference the @Home Business Insurance Rating Guide.
  • Once you have completed the application, contact your Approved RLI Administrator. Do not send applications and premiums directly to RLI.Check the  Approved Administrator List to find contact information for your state administrator.
